As the novel Coronavirus reaches India, the number of positive cases to be registered by now,mare 468. That being said, among those, 9 number of people have had died due to the virus. The total number of positive cases were registered on Monday after a complete lock was declared all over India.
For the record, 22 states have to follow the lockdown which also includes Union Territories as well. Alongside, the direct instructions have been received from the Indian Council of Medical Research. The instructions include the usage of an anti-malarial drug if there are high chances of risk factors.
On Monday, the health minister of India declared the names of states that have been declared on lockdown. Goa, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tripura, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Nagaland, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh are included.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the lockdown procedure includes barricading boarders. Along with those markets, IT, Business and commercial firms are to be shut down until the end of the month. In relation to that, employees are to be getting full paid leaves for the following days.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, Section 144 has been implemented where a social gathering of more than 4 people has been banned. This happened shortly after the number of positive cases rose in several districts of Maharashtra. That being said, airlines, interstate and intercity commutes are under halt too. Only e-commercial services can be operating.
ICMR Directs the Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Case of Risks
Under the constitution as well as a recommendation from the Indian Council Of Medical Research, The National Task Force advises the use of a drug. The drug is known as Hydroxychloroquine.
That being said, the drug is not for common people. Balram Bhargava, the Director of Indian Council Of Medical Research, mentioned that the drug is only for the frontline service people who are treating COVID-19 patients. ‘
In relation to that, the drug is also suggested to be taken by those who are under the same roof with a person tested positive for COVID-19. The drug can only be ingested for prophylaxis as a mode of prevention from the virus.
Prime Minister Modi Talks About Impact on the Economy
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi ensures that the Coronavirus outbreak has not risen from essential items. He also mentioned it is advisable to deal with the issue in a humanitarian way and not to neglect the workforce under the COVID-19 outbreak.
Nirmala Sitharam, The Financial Minister of India, mentioned that the expenditure of companies will be dealt with corporate social responsibility. Since the coronavirus outbreak is a global pandemic, it shall be treated as a disaster.
Based on the official notification, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has given the right to use the funds of Corporate Social Responsibility to control the impacts made by COVID-19.
In relation to that, it was also added that these funds can be used for activities that involve treating COVID-19 patients. Also, it can be used for other means of controlling the outbreak. This includes sanitization, promoting health care and prevention methods.
