Govt Suggest Extension Of Lockdown As Death Toll Rises To 124 With 5000+ Affected!

Based on the reports by the family Welfare and the Union Health Ministry, the rise of infected people has begun. On Tuesday, India witnessed the death toll rising to 124 while the affected number of people stand at the count of 4, 789. Meanwhile, almost 508 cased of Coronavirus infected people have been registered in the time span of 24 hours.

Amidst the surge in infection, an extension of lockdown beyond 14th April is likely. Additionally, the states have announced to level up the protocols for the lockdown. This implies, that key areas or hotspots where cluster formation is possible will be under strict containment. That being said, even the infrastructure fo testing will level up. 

Based on the data, the number of active cases sums up to 4,312. On the other hand, the number of people who’ve been cured of COVID-19 is 352. One of the recovered patients has set the sail to another country shortly after being discharged. However, As of now, a count of 1.1 lakhs have been registered as tests done on people.

But the PTI says that the number of active cases shows in an increased rate rising at the count of 5, 192. Similarly, the death toll has also increased to 162.

Fresh Cases of COVID-19!

As of now, the number of fresh cases of COVID-19 has emerged from many regions. For instance, Telangana, Punjab, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu. Also, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Among all the aforementioned places, Maharashtra is having a high count on the number of affected people with a rate of 1, 108 while having 1150 people tested positive for the virus.

In the spectrum of positive cases, Maharashtra has made the highest mark crossing beyond the mark 1000. Amidst that, 64 people in Maharashtra died while 12 were added in the count. Meanwhile, it is said that at least 40 people have died in the state itself while the number of affected people in the financial states has risen to 600.

No reports of any new cases have been registered from places like Goa, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Mizoram, Ladakh, Chandigarh and Manipur. According to the higher authorities, the nation lockdown has helped a lot in the prevention of transmitting Coronavirus. The social distancing has also equally been helpful in preventing the outbreak.

Based on research done by ICMR (Indian Council Medical Research) and the Ministry of Health, the transmission can be widespread. It was clarified that the Coronavirus is highly transferrable, Which means if one person is affected by the virus and has not taken strict measures for isolation, then it can affect others faster. In over 30 days, the person can transmit the virus to nearly 406 people. 

Extension Of Lockdown: Is It True?

Based on currently reports, over 13 lakhs people have been registered to be tested positive of the virus.  That being said, few states in India had initiated a lockdown parameter to test how far the widespread can be controlled. Later, the entire nation went for a full-time lockdown from the 22nd of March. 

Meanwhile, there were signs of a relaxation period shortly after the lockdown but that was only for specific places and specific states. On the same spectrum, there had been signs that hotspot areas will be strictly contained. However, Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal had spoken about a relaxation period after lockdown. But that too was for specific sectors.

But now, she continues to spread awareness of social distancing. This implies that a relaxation period is not likely to happen anytime soon. Shivraj Singh, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, clarified that if the matter gets worse, then the lockdown will be extended.

Similarly, Ashok Gehlot from Rajasthan clarifies that the lockdown must be sustained phase-wise. The state cannot lift the lockdown right away with cases emerging everyday. On the same spectrum, the Government of Karnataka says that as of now, the situation os moderate. 

Which is also not a good enough reason to disable the lockdown. That being said, he also mentioned that it is too early to call it to quit right ow. In that spectrum, an extension for more twos fo lockdown can be expected.
